STIPERSTONES BRASS BAND
About us

We are a village band and have been playing for over 40 years. Stiperstones Brass was started with a core of veterans from army bands, dance bands and a class of young beginners and we are still essentially the same. We are always ready to extend a warm welcome to new players, and would-be players, of any age and experience. We also have an active Training Band where new players may have their first taste of ensemble playing before joining the main band.

The Band practises every Monday of the year, except for Bank Holidays, in Snailbeach Village Hall from 7.50pm until 9.30pm. The training Band, for beginners and anyone else who wants to help them or just to warm up thoroughly, is on term-time Monday evenings only at 7.00pm until 7.45pm.

Please email Clive Roe: StiperstonesBrassBand@gmail.com if you wish to attend a rehearsal for the first time as there are some Mondays during the year when the band doesn't meet.

We have players of 8 and players aged almost 80. Some have had lessons and others have not. Some have played all their lives; several have taken up playing in their thirties and forties; others have learned when young and, after not playing for many years have then come and joined us. All make a welcome and valuable contribution to the Band.

The Band owns some instruments although most of our members play their own. We currently have some instruments which are available for a very reasonable amount to anyone who would like to join us.
